1) What does CFBGSL stand for?
It stands for Carrollton/Farmers Branch Girl Softball League. The league represents the 2 cities as the organization offering girls softball to these communities and many other girls as well, living outside these communities that wish to play in our league.
2) When is registration?
For the 2019 Fall Season: Registration Begins July 1st, 2019 and Ends on August 18th, 2019. Late Registration: There is no late registration at this time for the Fall Season (Read below for Fee Details). So Register as early as possible! Earlier the better to assist VP’s in getting your team lined up or you lined up with a team!
3) Who is eligible?
Fall Season: Girls born between: 1/1/2004 - 12/31/2011 … NO - 6U Division during the Fall Season! … (Read below for Birth Year/Age Division Cut-Off’s)
4) How do we register?
From the Home Page - click on the “Spring Registration” tab (Big Red Button on the right side). Once in – click “Register” and follow along with the instructions. Please make certain to hit the “SUBMIT” button at the bottom of the last page! This will then open a new page to complete the payment transaction for your player’s registration. Payments by “Credit Card or Debit Card” are the ONLY options for online registration. Payment is due BEFORE you log off…If you log off without making a payment, your registration will be DELETED and will have to start the registration process all over again.
5) When does the Fall Season start & end…and when are games scheduled?
Games for the 2019 Fall Season will start on: Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019 and runs thru Friday, November 22nd, 2019.
6U Division - Does Not Play During Fall Season (Reason : Starting school for first time - need this time to adjust to school first) Spring Season - Play: Saturday mornings (Times: generally 10am – but could be scheduled at 9 or 11am) Game length: 55 minutes / Finish the Inning # of Games: Schedule - 10 / Guarantee - 8 (Will attempt to get all 10 games in, weather permitting) Please Note: If games are rained out, will be moved to next available Saturday. If not available, then to Thursday night. Will use Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday nights if necessary to get guaranteed games in.
8U Division - Play: Tuesday nights (Times: 6:30pm and/or 7:45pm) Game length: 60 minutes / Finish the Inning # of Games: Schedule - 10 / Guarantee - 8 (Will attempt to get all 10 games in, weather permitting) Please Note: If games are rained out, will be moved to that coming Thursday or following Thursday. If not available, will use Monday, Wednesday or Friday nights and Saturday if necessary to get guaranteed games in.
10U Division - Play: Monday nights (Times: 6:30pm and/or 8pm) Game length: 65 minutes / Finish the Inning # of Games: Schedule - 10 / Guarantee - 8 (Will attempt to get all 10 games in, weather permitting) Please Note: If games are rained out, will be moved to that coming Thursday or following Thursday. If not available, will use Monday, Wednesday or Friday nights and Saturday if necessary to get guaranteed games in.
12/14U Division - Play: Tuesday nights (Times: 6:30pm and/or 8pm) Game length: 70 minutes / Finish the Inning # of Games: Schedule - 10 / Guarantee - 8 (Will attempt to get all 10 games in, weather permitting) Please Note: If games are rained out, will be moved to that coming Thursday or following Thursday. If not available, will use Monday, Wednesday or Friday nights and Saturday if necessary to get guaranteed games in.
6) What is the season’s planned timeline of events?

7) What are the fees?
Fall Season for 8U thru 14U Divisions: Fees are $60… If registering additional siblings, each sibling will receive a $10 discount.
8) What is the fundraiser about, what is it for and how and where can I make a donation?
CFBGSL is a Non - Profit Organization and our Annual “Mandatory” Spring Season Fundraiser participation helps generate the funds needed to operate the league each year. All funds raised are solely dedicated to the major budget necessities of insurance, umpires, trophies, equipment, scholarships, lining fields, special events and other expenses.
“Only Applies to the Spring Season” … There are 2 Options for the “Mandatory” Fundraiser. 1) Buyout - If you choose this option, your player does not have to sell candy and you just pay the above fee ($140) to cover your player’s registration & fundraiser costs. 2) Sell Candy - If you choose this option, you will pay their registration fee ( $70), then your player “MUST” sell candy (World’s Finest Chocolate), selling 60 pieces of chocolate @ $2 a piece, collecting $120 to turn in to cover fundraiser costs (nearly half of what is collected, covers cost of the candy).
Each year we are fortunate to have individuals and companies donate to our league as all donations go to the betterment of our league and our players. CFBGSL welcomes and greatly appreciates any donations that help this organization promote the game of softball to our community’s youth. Being a Non - Profit Organization, all donations are tax deductible. If you wish to donate or know someone how does, please feel free to donate to our league by going to or leading them to our website homepage under the leftside tab listed as: Fundraiser/Donations. Click on the yellow tab “Donate” to make the process of donating seamless. CFBGSL is very grateful and thankful for any donations you may give!
9) What is age cut-off for each division?
CFBGSL uses USA Softball as our governing body for rules including age cut-off rules. (USA Softball is formally - ASA/Amateur Softball Association of America).

The league does allow a player, if eligible based on playing abilities, to play up 1 Division if they are within 1 year of date of birth from that said division. The eligibility will be determined by the Division VP's and League Board Members...(Example: player with a 2010 birth year (8U) may be eligible to play up to the next division (10U))...If you have any questions or inquiries regarding this, please contact your birth year Division VP and the next Division VP at the same time to discuss whether a player is eligible for this option.
10) Does a girl have to move up to the next age division if her team moves up but she is still
eligible for her previous age division?
No, she does not have to move up. If she is not ready to move up and is still eligible for the lower age division, she may remain and will be reassign her to a new team.
11) How is team placement determined?
All new players are entered into their division draft. Returning players that are registered on time by February 10, 2019 will be given priority to return to their spring 2019 team if they so wish, or may request to re-enter the division draft. Girls can also request to return to their Fall 2018 team IF there is a roster spot available on that team. The Fall team may/will have players returning to their team that unfortunately can’t play in the fall due to other obligations, but are eligible and can return to their team in the spring.
12) Can I play with a friend?
New players and former players may request a team with a current player of same age. Two new players of the same age may request to be on the same team. Subject to date of registration, roster availability, and meeting age requirements.
13) Can we form a new team with friends?
Yes, girls that have not played previously can ALL request to be placed on a team together. So get your friends from girl scouts, soccer or any other group activity together and form a new team. Please contact the appropriate VP for your age division to inform them of your possible intention of forming a team and to get information to any questions you may have. Subject to approval by the CFBGSL BOARD.
14) How do I register to coach?
From the Home Page - click on the “Spring Registration” tab (Big Red Button near top Right). Once in – click “Register” and follow along with the instructions. Please make sure to provide your D.O.B. and be certain to hit the SUBMIT Button at the bottom of the last page! Also, All CFBGSL Volunteer - Managers, Coaches, Asst. Coaches and Team Parents must pass a Background Check prior to being assigned to a team. Background check or completed at No Cost to You.

September 4th - Deadline for any documents needed from coaches or players
September 4th - Schedules Released
September 13th - Deadline for HS Coaches paperwork and Fees for Team Registration
September 9th - Fall Season Begins for: 10U
September 10th - Fall Season Begins for: 8U & 12/14U
September 18th - Fall Season Begins for: High School
October 11th - Student Holiday
October 14th - School Holiday (Fair Day)
October 7th or 17th (Weather?) - 10U goes All Girl-Pitch? (Pending Coaches vote at the General Meeting)
